UTICA — The Utica Zoo, 1 Utica Zoo Way, hosts its annual Spooktacular Harvest Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 22 and 23. It is an all-ages event and costumes are encouraged.

Spooktacular is the Utica Zoo’s premiere Halloween and harvest celebration with trick or treat stations, food trucks, vendors, live entertainment, animals on walkabout and the Twisted Fairy Tail Trail. The zoo itself will remain open until 4:30 p.m. both days. 

Admission to the Spooktacular activities is $4 plus the regular Zoo admission for non-members and includes free parking with shuttle service from Payne Hall parking lot at Mohawk Valley Community College on Sherman Drive and the Parkway Recreational Center, 220 Memorial Parkway.

Spooktacular features 13 trick or treat stations, the Twisted Fairy Tail Trail, live music by Max Scialdone on Saturday and a special performance by the Happy Haggs Dance Troupe of Central New York on Sunday, “Spooky Science” by MVCC Future Engineers’ Club, special performances by Karate USA and live magic shows by Jim Okey Magic Comedy.

Food trucks will include Squeezers Lemonade, The Grapevine and Kookie’s Q.

Vendors include Sterling Valley Maple, B&B Burnables, Love Craft Crochet/Nerdz Rezin, And Stuff of That Nature, Raw ADK, Usborne Books & More, So Sweet Candy Shoppe, Free Flow Farms, and coupons from Nothing Bundt Cakes.
