Special holiday events slated at MWPAI

UTICA — Robin Spielberg brings her “Spirit of the Holidays Sing-Along” to the For Kids and Families series 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27 in the Munson-Williams-Proctor Ars Institute Sinnott Family - Bank of Utica Auditorium.

Admission is $10, $8 for MWPAI members. 

Lyrics to some all-time holiday favorites will be projected on the screen so that the audience can join in and sing. To add to the merriment, a local youth choir will join Robin on stage.

Hailed as one of America’s most popular contemporary female pianists/composers, Spielberg has played Carnegie Hall three times and has been a featured guest on CBS Saturday Morning, PBS, and NPR. 

She has been winning the hearts of listeners around the world with her compelling melodies and sensitive piano techniques since debuting her first recording of original solos for piano, Heal of the Hand.

A prolific composer, Spielberg has 18 recordings to her credit and appears on more than 40 compilations around the world. Her discography includes albums of original piano solos, arrangements of American standards, original pieces for piano/ensemble, holiday recordings, a CD of American melodies, and a CD of lullabies.

Please note, there will be no 11 a.m. performance.

Art and Yoga For Mind, Body, and Spirit

Saturdays, Dec. 7, 14, 21 from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.

Full session (seven classes): $75, $50 MWPAI members. Drop-in fee: $15, $10 MWPAI members. For full session, please pay in advance through the ticket office, 315-797-0055. Drop-ins can pay at the door.

Each class offers a 15-minute introduction to art in the gallery followed by one hour of yoga. All levels of ability are welcome. Wear comfortable clothing and bring your own yoga mat. For more information, contact the Museum Education Department at 315-797-0000, ext. 2158.

Film series

Films are shown in the Sinnott Family - Bank of Utica Auditorium every Wednesday and Friday at 2 and 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $8, $6 MWPAI members, $4 for students with ID, free for PrattMWP students.
