WEST TURIN — A New Jersey man was hospitalized after his snowmobile crashed into a tree in Lewis County Tuesday evening, according to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's deputies said Charles P. Hutchinson, 57, of Basking Bridge, New Jersey, was riding on Trail C4C around 6:17 p.m. Tuesday when his snowmobile hit a patch of ice, causing him to go off the trail. Deputies said the sled struck a tree and Hutchinson was taken to the county hospital for evaluation.

No tickets were issued.
