Snowmobiler crashes through ice on Fourth Lake
WEBB — A snowmobiler rescued himself after his Ski-Doo broke through the ice on Fourth Lake in Herkimer County Saturday evening, according to the Webb Police Department.
Police said Daniel Tremont, of Selkirk, Albany County, was riding his 2017 Ski-Doo snowmobile on Fourth Lake around 7:30 p.m. Saturday when the snowmobile broke through the ice. Police said both Tremont and his snowmobile became submerged in the water.
Tremont was then able to climb out on his own and he walked to a nearby restaurant, where he refused medical attention, authorities said. Tremont later retrieved his own snowmobile.
