SNAPSHOT: Rome police rescue family of ducks

BABY DUCKS SAVED — A family of baby ducks was rescued out of a sewer grate on East Chestnut Street in Rome Sunday morning, with Rome rescue personnel climbing into the sewer to help get the ducklings. The babies fell in just east of Black River Boulevard, and a passerby spotted the mother duck sitting near the grate and squawking, authorities said. The Rome Police and Fire departments responded to rescue the babies.
