Registration for the November Food $en$e program — open to everyone regardless of income — will be held at First United Methodist Church in Rome, the First Baptist Church in Rome, Lake Delta Fire Department, the Presbyterian Church in Holland Patent, and Karing Kitchen in Oneida.
All sites will be following CDC guidelines, requiring masks and social distancing.
Food $en$e is a discount food program provided by the Central New York Food Bank. Everyone is welcome to participate. There are no income guidelines.
The $20.50 per unit cost is payable at the time of registration by cash or food stamps. Multiple units can be purchased. There are also extras which can be purchased with or without the basic unit. Sign-ups are scheduled at:
• First United Methodist Church, 400 N. George St.: Registration will be held Friday, Oct. 23, from noon-2 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 8, from noon-1 p.m.
Registrations, for pickup at First United Methodist, will also be accepted from 10 a.m. to noon Thursdays, through Thursday, Nov. 5, at the First Baptist Church, 301 W. Embargo St.
The food may be picked up Friday, Nov. 20, between noon and 2 p.m. in First United Methodist Church. Sign-ups for the following month will also be accepted when picking up food. For information, call 315-336-1740.
• Those participating in the Town of Lee program can place orders on Friday, Oct. 23, from 1 to 3 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 29, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Lake Delta Fire Department, 8508 Elmer Hill Road.
Orders may be picked up on Friday, Nov. 20, from 1 to 3 p.m. For more information, call 315-336-0742 or 315-358-4150.
• Foothills Rural Community Ministry, Presbyterian Church, Holland Patent (across from the park just off Route 365).
Registration is Friday, Oct. 23, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. or Saturday, Oct. 24, between 10 and 11 a.m. The food may be picked up between 12:30 and 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, or from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21. (Frozen foods will be kept in a freezer for the Saturday pickup).
• Karing Kitchen, 116 West Grove St., Oneida, is accepting orders by appointment only — call 315-280-0860.
The November package includes turkey pan roast, tilapia fillets, ground pork, homestyle stuffing, mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, canned corn, pie shells, and two fresh produce items.
Specials, which may be purchased in addition to the package or separately, are:
Whole Turkeys (10-12 lbs. for $16.50)
Meatloaf (2 lbs. for $7): a traditional meatloaf made with 100% ground beef.
Produce Box ($14): The Produce Box includes: apples (3 lbs.), celery (sleeve), onions (2 lbs.), carrots (1 lb.), white potatoes (5 lbs.), winter squash, and three sweet potatoes.
Pork Loin Roast (2 lbs. for $7.50): boneless and weighs 2 lbs. per special.
American Cheese (5 lbs. for $11.50): not individually wrapped.
Macaroni & Cheese (6 lbs. for $10): family-sized and a Stouffers’ product.
