Sign-up for February Food $en$e today

Registration for the February Food $en$e program — open to everyone regardless of income — will be held at Lake Delta Fire Department, the Presbyterian Church in Holland Patent, and Karing Kitchen in Oneida.

All sites will follow CDC guidelines, requiring masks and social distancing.

Food $en$e is a discount food program provided by the Central New York Food Bank. Everyone is welcome to participate. There are no income guidelines. The $20.50 per unit cost is payable at the time of registration by cash or food stamps. Multiple units can be purchased.

There are also extras which can be purchased with or without the basic unit. Sign-ups are scheduled at:

• Those participating in the Town of Lee program can place orders today, Jan. 21, from 1 to 3 p.m.; and Thursday, Jan. 29, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Lake Delta Fire Department, 8508 Elmer Hill Road.

Those who participated in the Rome UMC program are encouraged to use this program.

Orders may be picked up on Friday, Feb. 25, from 1 to 3 p.m. For more information, call 315-336-0742 or 315-358-4150.

• Foothills Rural Community Ministry, Presbyterian Church, Holland Patent (across from the park just off Route 365).

Registration is Friday, Jan. 21, from 1 to 2 p.m. or Saturday, Jan. 22, between 10 and 11 a.m. The food may be picked up between 1 and 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, or from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26. (Frozen foods will be kept in a freezer for the Saturday pickup).

• Karing Kitchen, 116 West Grove St., Oneida, is accepting orders by appointment only — call 315-280-0869.

The February package includes ground beef, pork sirloin pieces, kielbasa sausage, fish sticks, chicken breast portions, pierogi cheddar, chunk cheddar cheese, diced potatoes, applesauce, white rice, and two fresh produce items.

February Specials

Specials, which may be purchased in addition to the package or separately, are:

Strip steak, 12 oz. for $7.50: beef strip loin steak without the bone

Lobster bites, 15 oz. for $6.50: can be deep fried or baked in the oven

Breaded chicken chunks, 2.6 lbs. for $8: fully-cooked Tyson product, is slightly spicy

Onion rings, 2.5 lbs. for $8: ready to cook in the oven or fryer

Pantry box - 10 lbs. for $11: Pancake Mix (32 oz.), Toasted Oat Cereal (12 oz.), Spaghetti Sauce (15 oz.), Mac & Cheese (7.25 oz.), Canned Chicken (5 oz.), Egg Noodles (12 oz.), Peanut Butter (18 oz.), Strawberry Perseveres (18 oz.), Pears (15 oz.), Carrots (15 oz.)

Pork ribs, 4.85 lbs. (avg.) for $10: St. Louis style spare rib

Hot Pockets, 12/8 oz. sandwiches for $22: Ham & cheese
