Sign-up for December Food $en$e on Nov. 19

Registration for the December Food $en$e program — open to everyone regardless of income — will be held at Lake Delta Fire Department, the Presbyterian Church in Holland Patent, and Karing Kitchen in Oneida.

All sites will follow CDC guidelines, requiring masks and social distancing.

Food $en$e is a discount food program provided by the Central New York Food Bank. Everyone is welcome to participate. There are no income guidelines. The $20.50 per unit cost is payable at the time of registration by cash or food stamps. Multiple units can be purchased. There are also extras which can be purchased with or without the basic unit. Sign-ups are scheduled at:

• Those participating in the Town of Lee program can place orders Friday, Nov. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 27, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Lake Delta Fire Department, 8508 Elmer Hill Road. Those who participated in the Rome UMC program are encouraged to use this program. Orders may be picked up on Friday, Dec. 17, from 1 to 3 p.m. For more information, call 315-336-0742 or 315-358-4150.

• Foothills Rural Community Ministry, Presbyterian Church, Holland Patent (across from the park just off Route 365).

Registration is Friday, Nov. 19, from 1 to 2 p.m. or Saturday, Nov. 20, between 10 and 11 a.m. The food may be picked up between 1 and 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, or from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18. (Frozen foods will be kept in a freezer for the Saturday pickup).

• Karing Kitchen, 116 West Grove St., Oneida, is accepting orders by appointment only — call 315-280-0869.

The December package includes chicken breast portions, corned beef hash, breakfast sausage, Salisbury steak, fresh eggs, pancake mix, toasted oats cereal, quick oats, frozen diced potatoes, cinnamon rolls, and two fresh produce items.

December Specials

Specials, which may be purchased in addition to the package or separately, are:

Spiral ham, 8 lbs. (avg) for $16.75: average weight between 8 and 10 lbs

Italian meatballs, 5 lbs. for $14.50: fully cooked

Onion rings, 2.5 lbs. for $8: ready to cook in the oven or fryer

Stuffed chicken, 2 lbs. for $11.50: stuffed with apples and cranberries

Lobster bites, 15 oz. for $5: can be deep fried or baked in the oven

Philly Steak Hot Pockets, twelve 8 oz. sandwiches for $22
