Sign-up for April Food $en$e


Registration for the April Food $en$e program — open to everyone regardless of income — will be held at Lake Delta Fire Department, the Presbyterian Church in Holland Patent, and Karing Kitchen in Oneida.

All sites will be following CDC guidelines, requiring masks and social distancing.

Food $en$e is a discount food program provided by the Central New York Food Bank. Everyone is welcome to participate. There are no income guidelines.

The $20.50 per unit cost is payable at the time of registration by cash or food stamps. Multiple units can be purchased. There are also extras which can be purchased with or without the basic unit. Sign-ups are scheduled at:

• Those participating in the Town of Lee program can place orders on Saturday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lake Delta Fire Department, 8508 Elmer Hill Road. Those who usually participate in the Rome UMC program are encouraged to use this program for the time being.

Orders may be picked up on Friday, April 30, from 1 to 3 p.m. For more information, call 315-336-0742 or 315-358-4150.

• Foothills Rural Community Ministry, Presbyterian Church, Holland Patent (across from the park just off Route 365).

Registration is today, March 26, from 1 to 2 p.m. or Saturday, March 27, between 10 and 11 a.m. The food may be picked up between 1 and 2 p.m. Friday, April 30, or from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1. (Frozen foods will be kept in a freezer for the Saturday pickup).

• Karing Kitchen, 116 West Grove St., Oneida, is accepting orders by appointment only — call 315-280-0869.

The April package includes chicken breast, meatballs, Italian sausage, veal patties, ground turkey, cheese ravioli, pepperoni pizza, mozzarella cheese, spaghetti sauce, peaches, and two fresh produce items.

April Specials

Specials, which may be purchased in addition to the package or separately, are:

Breaded chicken fillets: 5 lbs. for $8 — Tyson product, fully-cooked

Pork roast: 2 lbs. for $7.25 — boneless

Shrimp: 1 lb. for $7.25 — uncooked, peeled and deveined

Pantry box: $10 — includes: apple juice (64 oz.), cereal (14 oz.), white rice (1 lb.), canned pasta w/meat (15 oz.), elbow macaroni (1 lb.), canned chicken (5 oz.), canned corn (15 oz.), peanut butter (18 oz.), fruit spread (19 oz.) and fruit salad (15 oz.)

Mozzarella sticks: 2 lbs. for $6.50 — pre-cooked and ready for the oven

Hot Pockets: 12/8 oz. sandwiches for $20.50 — ham and cheese
