Shriners begin ‘FEZtival of Trees’ in Utica


UTICA – The Ziyara Shriners will host their third FEZtival of Trees, where decorated Christmas trees with themed gifts from local businesses will be displayed and raffled off one by one, through Dec. 1.

The event is at the Masonic Care Community, 2150 Bleecker St. in Utica.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Sunday, noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. next Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 1.

Each winner will receive a decorated tree with a variety of gifts. There will also be gift basket raffles available with drawings beginning at 5 p.m. Dec. 1.

The admission fee is $2, children age 12 enter free of charge. There will also be food,
beverages and photo opportunities with Santa and his elves.

Such fundraising events help the Zilara Shriners, the Utica chapter of Shriners International, continue serving the local community and the Shriners Hospitals. The Ziyara Shriners are the Utica chapter of Shriners International.

This philanthropic group is responsible for organizing and participating in local events and fundraisers to benefit the community, its members, and the Shriners Hospitals for Children throughout North America. The primary function of the organization is to help provide transportation, food, and lodging for children in need of medical care, through the Shriners Hospitals.
