HAMILTON — A man is wanted by the New York State Police in Madison County for stealing more than $500 worth of groceries and other merchandise from Price Chopper.

State police said the adult male loaded up a shopping cart full of food and other items at about 8:55 p.m. Oct. 5 and walked out of the Price Chopper on Route 12B in Hamilton. Police describe the man as dark-skinned, and at the time of the incident he was wearing a light gray Nike brand sweatshirt, dark-colored pants and a green winter cap. He has a heavy build and a short beard.
