HOLLAND PATENT — Park Coffee House is inviting adults with special needs, those who do not like dark concert venues, or those who have low vision, to a live music event on Sunday, May 5 from 2 to 3 p.m.
There is an optional admission cost of $5.
The concert will have no sound amplification, flashing lights, or harsh lighting. The event is designed to reduce the over-stimulation inherent in many concerts. The show will be a “gentle gathering,” with “live acoustic music, story telling, and sing-a-longs, according to organizers. Entertainment will be provided by local performers.
Park Coffee House is handicap accessible.
Ice cream sundaes provided by Stewart’s Shops, and homemade refreshments will be available for purchase. Guests with special dietary restrictions may bring their own snacks.
Proceeds will benefit the local food pantry. Donations of canned goods and non-perishable food items will be accepted. The food pantry and Park Coffee House are both programs of Foothills Rural Community Ministry, a non-denominational charity.
