In recognition of September being National Senior Center Month, the Resource Center for Independent Living, Inc. is starting a new initiative in which local seniors can attend the Many Hearts Senior Care Center at RCIL for free on any one day of their choosing.
The Many Hearts Senior Care Center at RCIL, located at the Dorothy Smith Center for Advocacy, 1607 Genesee St., Utica, fosters a nurturing environment for local seniors and provides recreational activities, nutritious meals, personal care and door-to-door transportation (limited availability), while preventing loneliness and segregation.
The Senior Care Center is not only an asset for participants, but also to families and caregivers as it enables them to work or run errands while knowing their loved ones are taken care of, organizers said.
The Senior Care Center program runs Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Call 315-624-2553 to schedule a visit.
Walk-ins who are seeking information about the program or who would like to visit for a free day are welcome.
