In the past 20 years, Oneida County has had five different representatives in Congress, but Claudia Tenney has been the best So far. Claudia’s compassionate, tenacious and common sense approach brought historic resources to our region.
When first elected in 2017, she hit the ground running, putting upstate New York on the map with President Trump by meeting with him and key leaders in Washington. She relentlessly showcased our wonderful region through enacted legislation and floor speeches on key people and leaders in our communities. As the mother of a Marine, Claudia got to work, even before she was sworn in, for Veterans and our military, advocating for historic increases to the important work at Rome Lab.
Claudia championed the Made in America initiative after a visit to Sherrill Manufacturing in 2016. She persuaded the President to feature their products at the White House as the only New York company in 2017 and 2018. She co-sponsored bills that were signed into law by the President to increase accountability to the VA and cut regulations hurting our small community banks and credit unions who serve our region.
By the end of her first term, Claudia advocated for our region by fighting for and getting key amendments to the tax cuts by ensuring that lower and middle income taxpayers were protected by saving the the state and local tax deduction, doubling child and dependent care credits and other key provisions that help New Yorkers. Don’t believe the lies, Claudia held numerous town halls and open forums across the district. It would be a big advantage to send a courageous leader like Claudia back to Congress to work alongside President Trump.
