VERONA — Madison-Oneida BOCES will conduct its annual emergency go-home early drill on April 11, with students being dismissed 15 minutes early that day, the Verona-based BOCES announced.
Among school districts whose students attend programs at BOCES are Rome, Camden, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, Canastota, Hamilton, Madison, Morrisville-Eaton, Oneida, and Stockbridge Valley.
Schools aim to have the annual event occur on the same day to minimize disruptions for BOCES, said Rome school district Superintendent Peter C. Blake.
Blake made his comments in his online blog which noted the Rome district’s go-home-early drill also will be April 11.
The Rome superintendent asked parents to “please make sure that necessary arrangements are made for students to arrive home from school earlier on that day” regarding dismissal 15 minutes earlier than regularly scheduled.
