MAJOR LEAGUE DEAL — Tyler Schoff, who pitched for Rome Free Academy and then Division I Bryant University, has signed a free agent rookie contract with the Washington Nationals organization. Schoff, a 6-foot-4 right-handed starter, was 7-1 with a 3.12 ERA in his senior year at Bryant. He threw 69 1/3 innings and struck out 72 batters. He was a second-team All-Northeast Conference selection this spring. Now he joins the Nationals, who won the 2019 World Series.
