WESTMORELAND — Westmoreland Historical Society will host the program, “Savage Arms History,” presented by local historian Lou Parrotta, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at Westmoreland Town Hall, 100 Station Road.

Savage Arms was once located on Turner Street in Utica, which later became Charlestown Mall. They were a local industry directly responsible for producing war products between WWI and WW II.

They manufactured sporting rifles and became the largest in the country. They also made rifles for the British government. Parrotta will tell their history and how important it was to the area.

Refreshments will be served.
