UTICA — Saranac Jams Summer Concert Series presents Free Rein Summer Tour 2018: Rebelution Wednesday, July 11.
Tickets are $35. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., show starts at 6:30.
Event includes guest performances by Stephen Marley, Common Kings, Zion I Crew, and DJ Mackle.
According to Rebelution’s website:
“Fourteen years into an effervescent career, California reggae band and touring juggernaut Rebelution remains abundantly creative. Its members —singer/guitarist/lyricist Eric Rachmany, keyboardist Rory Carey, drummer Wesley Finley, and bassist Marley D. Williams — are as focused and committed as they are easygoing and laid-back.
“And they haven’t lost a step since Falling Into Place, their 2016 studio album, became the band’s fourth release to top the Billboard reggae chart, earning them their first ever Grammy nomination in the category of Best Reggae Album. Ever expanding and reaching wider audiences, the Rebelution phenomenon continues to spread good vibes on tour, and in the studio.”
On July 15 at 7 p.m. Saranac Jams presents Dispatch. Tickets are on sale now for $37.
“Dispatch has announced an extensive U.S. tour this summer and fall, including stops at Red Rocks, SummerStage, Central Park in NYC, the Greek Theatre in LA, Blue Hills Bank Pavilion in Boston and more.
“Long known as one of the country’s most successful independent bands, Dispatch has managed to reach new creative milestones with ‘America, Location 12,’ their first new album in five years.
“Marking a ‘noticeably new direction for the band’s sound’ (Paste), the album has introduced a ‘reinvigorated, triumphant’ (Boston Globe) Dispatch to a whole new audience of receptive fans.
“The breakout single ‘Only the Wild Ones’ marked Dispatch’s first ever Top 10 hit at AAA radio, and has already been streamed more than 8 million times on Spotify. Their newfound radio success continues with the current single ‘Painted Yellow Lines.’”
