Salvation Army Empire State Division receives hefty donation


SYRACUSE — The Salvation Army Empire State Division has received an anonymous donation of cleaning supplies and paper products worth $2 million, according to a release.

The items donated include liquid soap, toilet paper, paper plates, cleaners, sanitizing wipes, napkins, and paper towels.

“In a time of such need, the Salvation Army Empire State Division cannot say enough about how this donation will better the lives of those in the communities they serve,” a statement from the Salvation Army reads.

The goods are being delivered to different Salvation Army Community Centers across the Empire State Division that include sites in: Buffalo, Canandaigua, Corning, Cortland, Elmira, Glens Falls, Ithaca, Jamestown, Lockport, Plattsburgh, Rochester, Syracuse, Utica and Watertown.

“Since COVID-19 began, The Salvation Army Empire State Division has helped nearly 700,000 individuals. This donation will add to that number. The goods are being distributed on a first come, first serve basis. If you are an individual or an agency in need of these items, please contact your local Salvation Army,” a release continues.
