The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 502 W. Chestnut St., is hosting a rummage sale on Friday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Event organizer, Candy Fike invites everyone to come and shop for a wide variety of treasures. “All of the items for our sale are donated and all of the proceeds go to support missions, locally and around the world. The money raised may go to help an individual in need, to the Rome Rescue Mission, Lutheran World Relief or to Habitat for Humanity just to mention a few of our recent donations,” she said.
“Since all of the items are donated you never know what treasures you may find. This year we seem to have lots of DVD’s —many of a spiritual nature, seasonal décor and craft supplies, linens and household items. We always have a nice selection of books and gently worn clothing for the whole family including a few bathing suits.”
On Saturday, May 4, there will be a bag sale from 9 a.m. to noon. “You can fill a brown paper grocery bags with as many items as it will hold for $2. Plan to come early for the best selection,” Fike said.
A chair lift has been installed at the church making the sale more accessible. For more information, call 315-336-8090.
