Route 233 bridge at Wheeler Creek one lane, DOT says

Motorists will encounter one-lane alternating traffic due to work at the Route 233 bridge over Wheeler Creek starting Monday, according to the New York Department of Transportation weekly road work report. 

In road work elsewhere:

Rome, Lee, Taberg, Route 69 between Blossvale Road and Link Road: East- and westbound lane closures due to mailbox repair. 

Town of Verona, South Bay, Route 31 between Miller Road and Morris Road: East- and westbound lane closures with flaggers in place due to shoulder backup, cable guidewire and mailbox repair. 

Town of Verona, Route 365 at Spring Road: Shoulder closures on Spring Road and work off the road on Route 365 due to signal work.

Prospect, Route 365 at State Street: Motorists will encounter east- and westbound lane and shoulder closures with flaggers in place due to the installation of signal poles.

Paris, Route 12 northbound between Daytonville Road and Shanley Road: There will be work off the road for the installation of weather station footing. Motorists will not encounter any lane closures at this time. 

Augusta, Route 26 between North Road and Wells Gifford Road: Motorists will encounter north- and southbound lane closures due to the installation of new flasher span and lights at the intersection of Knoxboro Road.  

Camden, Florence, Route 13 between Mill Street and the Oswego County line: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to roadside culvert pipe work. 

Utica, Route 5S between Cornelia Street and Broad Street: Utility work continues on Route 5S with lane closures in both directions. New gas mains and conduits will be installed on Route 5S between Broadway and John Street. There will be east- and westbound right lane closures between Cornelia Street and John Street due to the removal of existing highway lighting and fixtures as well as the installation of a temporary traffic signal. There will be a continuous right lane closure eastbound from Broadway to Broad Street due to construction activities for temporary signal pole installations from the Utica Auditorium to Broad Street. Second Street will be closed from Jay Street to Route 5S. Jay Street will remain closed from Genesee Street to Second Street. The intersections of Burnet Street/Jay Street and First Street/Jay Street are also closed. The slip ramp from Jay Street to Second Street will be permanently closed on April 15.

Utica, Route 5A between Route 12 and Whitesboro Street: Motorists will encounter a new traffic pattern with new pavement markings. The new traffic pattern will begin at the Route 12 southbound ramp with the westbound traffic being on the eastbound passing lane. Eastbound traffic will be in the right driving lane. Motorists will encounter flaggers and message boards to assist the new traffic pattern. Jason Street may be closed for the duration of the project; Platt Street will remain open. 

Deerfield, Route 8 between Route 12 and North Gage Road: Motorists will encounter one-way alternating traffic with flaggers in place due to guiderail work and shoulder closures due to driveway work.

Clayville, Cassville, Bridgewater, Route 8 between Holman City Road and Route 20: Motorists will encounter north- and southbound lane closures with flaggers in place due to shoulder backup, cable guiderail and mailbox repairs.

Town of Canastota: Route 5 between Canastota and Wampsville. Motorists will encounter shoulder closures in both directions and off road work due to waterline work. 

Madison County

Lenox, Route 13 between Lewis Point and Kelly Road: Motorists may encounter east- and westbound lane closures at the intersection of Route 13 and Pine Ridge Road/ North Court Street due to signal pole installation. A flashing signal may be removed during the day and will be re-installed at the end of the work day. 

Bridgeport, Lakeport, Route 31 between north Main Street and Kirkville Road: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to guiderail and mailbox work. 

Hubbardsville, North Brookfield, Route 12 between Swamp Road and Wickwire Road: Motorists will encounter north- and southbound lane closures with flaggers in place due to shoulder back up, cable guidewire and mailbox repair. 

Stockbridge, Route 46 between Mt Hope Avenue and Stockbridge Hill Road: Motorists will encounter north- and southbound lane closures with flaggers in place due to drainage work. 

Leonardsville, West Edmeston, South Brookfield, Route 8 between the Madison/Chenango County line and Mill Street: Motorists will encounter north and southbound lane closures with flaggers in place due to shoulder backup, cable guidewire and mailbox repairs. 

Nelson, Route 20 between Nelson Road and Willowvale Road: Motorists will encounter westbound lane closures due to pothole patching. 

Herkimer County

Ilion, Route 51 bridge between Route 5 and Route 5S: Motorists eastbound on Route 5 will be able to exit. Motorists traveling to Route 5 westbound will be detoured to Route 5S eastbound in Herkimer. There are signed detours in place on Route 5S prior to Route 51 exits in both directions as well as Route 5 eastbound near Central Avenue in Ilion. 

Herkimer, Route 5 bridge between South Washington Street and King Street: Motorists will encounter an eastbound lane closure with a signed detour in place due to bridge work.

Montgomery County

Fultonville, Route 920P, Route 30A between Route 5S and Thruway exit 27: Lane closures in all directions with flaggers in place due to signal work. 

Amsterdam, Route 30 bridge over Thruway: Northbound lane closure with a temporary signal due to bridge rehabilitation. 

Fulton County

Rockwood, Piseco, Route 10 between Route 10A and Route 8: Lane closures with flaggers in place due to the removal and installation of guiderail.
