Clinton outscored visiting Westmoreland 21-3 in the second quarter to blow open the game and get a 65-42 win in boys basketball Thursday in the Center State Conference.

Westmoreland’s Bryan Doyle led his team with 16 points and added 11 rebounds for a double-double. Mitchell Schram had 10 points.
Clinton next plays a league game at 7 p.m. Monday at Sherburne-Earlville.
Westmoreland hosts Waterville at 7 p.m. Monday in the league.
Remsen ekes out win at Poland
The Remsen boys basketball team got a one-point win at Poland Thursday, 35-34, in the Center State.
The teams were tied 9-9 after a quarter and Poland led 20-19 at the break. Remsen outscored Poland by three in the third and held off the Tornados to get the narrow win.
Grady Helmer led Remsen with 12 points. Dylan Jones scored eight.
Statistics for Poland were not provided.
Remsen (2-2) next plays at 7 p.m. on Thursday at home against the Town of Webb in the league.
Peterson’s 25 points pace VVS in win
Anna Peterson scored 25 points for the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill girls basketball team as it cruised to a 42-21 home win over Stockbridge Valley Thursday.
Peterson added five rebounds and three assists. Teammate Maddy Ward led the team with eight rebounds. Sophia Sherwood had six assists, four steals and three rebounds to go with three points.
VVS (1-0) plays at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Holland Patent in the Tri-Valley League.
Kyles scores 23 as Henninger defeats Oneida
Iyanna Kyles put up a game-high 23 points in a 48-40 road win for Henninger over Oneida in girls basketball Thursday in a non-league contest.
Henninger lead 31-30 after three quarters put outscored Oneida 17-10 in the fourth to get the win.
Myah Rainbow led Oneida with 15 points and added four rebounds and four steals. Jordan French scored nine points and had five rebounds.
Oneida hosts TVL foe Camden at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Little Falls tops Adirondack in hoops
The Little Falls girls basketball team held off Adirondack for a 35-27 win at home in the Center State on Thursday.
Alexis Kress led all scorers with 18 points for the Mounties, and added five boards. Teammate Ava Grcic had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds along with five steals, three assists and two blocks.
Ireland Payne led the Wildcats with 16 points.
Little Falls plays next at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Canastota in the league.
Adirondack hosts Frankfort-Schuyler at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the league.
New Hartford volleyball gets road win
The New Hartford girls volleyball team defeated host Thomas R. Proctor High School 3-0 Thursday in the TVL.
The Spartans won the sets 25-14, 25-21 and 25-17.
Elise Courto had eight kills and nine digs for New Hartford. Annie Ward had eight kills, two blocks and two digs. Abby O’Connor had 20 assists and seven digs. Micaela Magno had 11 digs and a pair of aces.
For Proctor Koko Jackson had three kills and two aces.
New Hartford will participate in a tournament at South Lewis today.
Proctor plays a non-league match at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Oneida.
CVA shuts out HP
Central Valley Academy picked up a 3-0 road win in girls volleyball at Holland Patent Thursday in the TVL.
The teams played three close sets, with the Thunder winning them 26-24, 25-21 and 26-24.
Statistics for CVA were not submitted.
For HP, Isabella Makarchuk had nine kills, three blocks and two aces. Julia Racha had nine assists.
CVA travels to East Syracuse-Minoa Monday for a 6:30 p.m. TVL match.
HP plays at New Hartford at 5 p.m. Monday in the league.
Whitesboro sweeps past ES-M at the net
The Whitesboro girls volleyball team won in three straight sets at East Syracuse-Minoa Thursday.
The Warriors won the sets 25-21, 25-19 and 25-23.
Riley Collis had eight kills, four digs, two blocks and two assists for Whitesboro. Tessa Nash had 23 assists and a pair of digs.
Whitesboro (4-0) will participate in a tournament at South Lewis today.
