Blue Devils soccer ties on Senior Night

Though Holland Patent scored early in the second half of the boys soccer game at Camden Tuesday, the Blue Devils knotted up the score with two minutes left in regulation. Neither team could find an overtime winner and the Tri-Valley League game ended in a 1-1 tie.

The game-tying goal was scored by Andrew Schultz on an assist from Tommy Hollibaugh.

Jack Chase stopped seven shots on goal for Camden.

Statistics for HP were not provided.

Camden plays at Whitesboro at 6 p.m. today in the league.

HP plays at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oneida in the league.

Sweet leads Bulldogs past Raiders

Jesse Sweet scored twice in a 3-0 win for Westmoreland/Oriskany boys soccer at Canastota Tuesday in the Center State Conference.

The Bulldogs led 2-0 at the break and added an insurance goal in the second half.

Nick Hays also scored. Bryan Doyle, Carter Tyczynski and Jack Tamburino each had an assist.

David Cronauer had three saves in goal for the win.

Canastota’s Conner Russell made nine saves.

Westmoreland-Oriskany improves to 10-2 and travels to Adirondack for a 4:30 p.m. league game today.

Canastota, 4-8, hosts Utica Academy of Science at 4 p.m. today in the league.

Grates scores lone goal in Frankfort soccer win over Sauquoit

Conner Grates scored on an assist from Roman Harrod in a 1-0 win by the Frankfort-Schuyler boys soccer team at home agaainst Sauquoit Valley Wednesday in the Center State.

Braydon Matos stopped all three shots he faced for the shutout.

Alex Prichard made 25 saves in net for Sauquoit.

Frankfort plays at Sherburne-Earlville in the league at 4:30 p.m. today.

Sauquoit plays a league game at Waterville at 6 p.m. today.

RFA girls shut out Proctor

The Rome Free Academy girls soccer team got a 3-0 win at Utica Proctor Tuesday in the TVL.

Nicolina Lokker scored and had an assist. Danielle D’Aiuto and Brynn Furbeck also scored.

Miranda McCormick made two saves in goal for RFA.

Statistics for Proctor were not submitted.

RFA hosts Vernon-Verona-Sherrill at 6:15 p.m. today in the TVL.

Proctor hosts Oneida at 6:30 p.m. today in the league.

Kaiser gets in on seven goals in VVS win

Laiken Kiser scored three times and assisted on four more goals in the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill girls soccer team’s 8-0 win against visiting Utica-Notre Dame in the TVL Tuesday.

Julia Carter scored and had an assist. Ella Cenname, Sofia Sherwood, Eva Croft and Anna Petersen also scored.

Emma Dam stopped the lone shot on goal she faced for VVS.

Notre Dame goalkeeper Vita Waters had 24 saves.

VVS plays a league game against host RFA at 6:15 p.m. today.

Notre Dame travels to New Hartford for a league game at 6 p.m. today.

Warriors blank Canastota

The Clinton field hockey team held Canastota off the scoreboard and scored one goal in each half for a Center State win Tuesday at home.

Lauren Rey and Gracen Grimm scored for the Warriors. Gretchen Grimm and Gabriella Gemelli had an assist each.

Chloe White made four saves for the shutout. Alyssa Bonneau made four saves for the Raiders.

Clinton plays a league game at Mount Markham at 4:30 p.m. today.

Canastota, 8-3, hosts Mount Markham in the league at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
