Rotary Club presents scholarships to three
ROME — The Rome Rotary Club has presented a trio of members of the Rome Free Academy Class of 2022 with scholarships during a presentation at the Lake Delta Yacht Club on Tuesday.
Two of the graduates, Lauren Dorfman and Joseph Keeney, were presented scholarships for best representing the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.” The scholarship recipients have participated in an array of school activities, church and community service and wrote a brief essay on what the Rotary motto means to them, as well as intending to further their education, according to club officials.
A scholarship was also awarded to Frank Till, who will attend Mohawk Valley Community College and then intends to embark on a career in one of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields.
The amounts of the scholarships was not immediately available.
