ROME — A 30-year-old woman was found with a quantity of methamphetamine during a Tuesday afternoon traffic stop, according to the Rome Police Department.

Police said Jessica L. Bristol, of Rome, was pulled over for failing to stop at the stop sign while turning onto Erie Boulevard West from South Doxtator Street around 3:16 p.m. Tuesday. A search of Bristol's purse uncovered a needle, police said, leading to a search of her vehicle, which uncovered a baggy of what appeared to be methamphetamine.

Bristol is charged with one count of seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, police stated. She is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
