Rome woman charged with harassment, mischief

ROME — A 30-year-old woman is accused of attacking another woman and damaging her car on Kossuth Street, according to the Rome Police Department.

Police said the victim returned home to Kossuth Street at about 6:30 p.m. April 11 and found Katrina L. Egelston, of Rome, disputing with a man at the residence. Police said all three were familiar with one another.

Egelston then turned on the victim and attempted to goad her into a fight, police said. The victim got out of her vehicle and refused to fight. Police said Egelston punched the other woman in the face and stomped on her foot.

The victim got back into her vehicle and called 911 Police said Egelston continued to goad her and kicked the passenger side window, then broke the passenger side mirror.

A warrant was issued for Egelston and police said she was taken into custody on Friday on one count each of second-degree harassment and fourth-degree mischief. She is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
