Rome woman charged with criminal sex act


A 20-year-old Rome woman is accused of inappropriate sexual contact with a teenage girl, according to area law enforcement officials.

Myisha J. Cummings had inappropriate contact with a 14-year-old girl in Rome last summer, according to officials with the county
Child Advocacy Center.

Following an investigation by Inv. Carey J. Phair and Det. Edwin A. D’Alessandro, Cummings was taken into custody on Thursday.

Cummings is charged with one count of second-degree criminal sex act, a class D felony, authorities said.

She is scheduled to appear in City Court, the law enforcers added.

The victim has been offered counseling through the CAC.
