The Rome Police Department will host child safety seat inspections at the police station on Wednesday morning, Dec. 4.
The inspections will be open from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 4, at the Justice Building at 301 N. James St., officials said. They noted that three out of four child car seats are either the wrong size or installed improperly.
Trained technicians will be on hand to determine if you’re using the right seat for your child’s height and weight. If possible, they will adjust the seat for you, or advise you if you need to get a new seat. The officers can also teach you the proper way to install a seat into a vehicle.
No appointments are necessary, and a limited number of seats are available to parents with a benefits card, officials said.
The inspections are free of charge.
