Rome police investigate home invasion in east Rome


A home invasion at an East Bloomfield Street apartment Thursday morning is under investigation, according to city law enforcement officials.

No arrests have been made so far, but there is no danger to the public, officials said..

Rome Police Detective Commander Kevin James said two suspects forced their way into an apartment on East Bloomfield Street at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

Police said they attacked one of the people inside the apartment and then fled the scene.“There is no danger to the public,” James stated. It is believed that the suspects and the victim knew one another.

James said it remains under investigation whether or not any property was stolen or what prompted the attack.

The search for the two suspected
invaders continued today, James said.
