Rome Police among groups to host trunk-or-treat events

The Rome Police Department will hold the department’s first ever trunk-or-treat event ahead of Halloween on the evening of Wednesday, Oct. 27.

The Rome Police event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Justice Building at 301 N. James St. The event will be hosted by the Community Impact Unit and will feature goodies for all participating children.

“It’s just something to do for the community,” said department spokesperson Lt. Sharon Rood. “Especially with COVID on the rise, and parents not wanting to go door-to-door.” Meanwhile, the City of Rome will hold another Halloween event on the Griffo Green in front of City Hall on West Dominick Street from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29.
