A 29-year-old woman has been charged after her 3-year-old was found wandering around in the rain outside Park Drive Manor Saturday afternoon, according to the Rome Police Department.

Rome mother charged after child found wandering in rain
ROME — A 29-year-old woman has been charged after her 3-year-old was found wandering around in the rain outside Park Drive Manor Saturday afternoon, according to the Rome Police Department.
Police said other residents found the 3-year-old outside and alone in the cold and rain at about 1 p.m. Saturday. The child was dressed in a winter coat, pants and boots. The residents called 911 and eventually the business manager recognized the child.
The mother was located and police said she had been sleeping.
Mariah A. Puchyr, of Rome, is charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child, police said. She is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
