Rome man charged with drugged driving with children in car


THENDARA — A Rome man is accused of driving under the influence of drugs with two young children in his car in Herkimer County, according to law enforcement officials.

Town of Webb Police said Stefano Fedele, 42, of Rome, was pulled over on Route 28 at about 7:43 p.m. Monday for an uninspected motor vehicle. Once he was stopped, police said Fedele was found to be driving under the influence of drugs.

Police said Fedele’s two young children, ages 1 and 4, were also riding in the back seat.

Fedele is charged with two counts each of driving while ability impaired by drugs and endangering the welfare of a child, as well as one ticket for uninspected vehicle, authorities said. He is scheduled to appear in Webb Town Court.
