Rome man accused of burglary following break-in


WHITESTOWN — A Rome man is accused of breaking into Village Motors in Whitestown.

Sheriff’s deputies said Robert J. Adsit, 27, of Rome, broke into Village Motors on Route 69 on June 19 and stole property from the business.

Following an investigation, deputies said Adsit was identified and taken into custody on Sunday.

Adsit is charged with one count of third-degree burglary, authorities said.

He was arraigned and sent to county jail in lieu of bail. He is scheduled to reappear in court, authorities said.

Deputies said the investigation is continuing and more arrests are possible.
