Rome man accused of attacking young girl
ROME — A 34-year-old man is accused of attacking a 6-year-old girl, and holding her down so that his son could attack her as well, according to the Rome Police Department.
Police said Terry L. Sochia, of Rome, grabbed the young girl by the hair and pulled her off a bicycle in the 300 block of W. Court St. around 2:13 p.m. Oct. 23. Police said Sochia held the girl down so that his 5-year-old son could hit her.
Sochia himself then kicked the girl in the stomach and hit her in the head, police stated.
Sochia was taken into custody on Friday on one count of endangering the welfare of a child, police said. He is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
