The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate (AFRL/RI), in partnership with the Griffiss Institute and Innovare Advancement Center, will offer STEM Summer Camps once again to students, in grades 5-12.

Current STEM funding has made it possible to provide summer camps free of charge this year, officials said.

“The Air Force Research Lab Information Directorate is excited to offer STEM Summer Camps once again,” said Jeff DeMatteis, AFRL/RI STEM Outreach Coordinator. “Our offerings this year include Arduino Camp, LEGO Robotics Camp, Drone Camp, Quantum Camp, and Cyber Camp. The Innovare Advancement Center is a great location to host the camps. We believe this summer will be just as successful as past summers,”

STEM Summer Camps will engage children in new and exciting experiences this summer. Kids imagine, collaborate, explore and create all while learning super cool STEM skills that will help them in school and in life.

The following STEM Summer Camps will be offered for 2022:

In-person camps

Arduino Camp — July 11-14: Grades: 8-12;

LEGO Robotics Camp — July 18-22: Grades: 5-8;

Drone Camp — Aug. 1-5: Grades: 9-12;

Quantum Innovation Camp — Monday, Aug. 15-18: Grades: 9-12.

Virtual camps

Cyber Camp 1.0 — July 25-29: Grades: 9-12; and

Cyber Camp 2.0 — Aug. 1-5: Grades: 9-12.

Online registration for the 2022 STEM summer camps will open at 11 a.m. Monday, May 23, and will remain open until all camps are filled. Current STEM funding has made it possible to provide summer camps for free this summer.
