Rome hospital offers online bill pay option

Posted

Safe, secure online payment is now available to Rome Memorial Hospital patients through the hospital’s website, according to Amy DiStefano, director of the business office.

“We worked with our vendors to identify a system that would be easy to use and work with our systems to ensure security and safety,” said DiStefano. “We began offering this option to our patients in late December and we’ve received nothing but positive comments.”

To use the online option, patients need their patient account number or Visit ID which is located on their bill. Next, visit www.romehospital.org/OnlineBillpay/ and click on the link to the secure payment service.

“Knowing that our customers’ billing information is in safe hands and ensuring that the program would work flawlessly were important factors in making our decision,” said DiStefano. “We chose this particular online service because we have worked with them for years for offline processing of credit cards and they have a proven track record of safety and reliability.”

DiStefano pointed out several other advantages of this program. “People who use this service save the hassle and expense of mailing in their bill,” she said. “Paying online also means that the payment will be posted quickly and it is less likely for a statement to cross in the mail with a payment.”

Rome Memorial Hospital’s Business Office and Information Technology departments are working with the online vendor to improve the online billpay experience and offer more options to our patients when making payments online while allowing for an easier and more user-friendly experience.

“We have been pleased with the response we have gotten from our customers during this initial phase of the program,” DiStefano said. “As we move forward we’ll continue to add functions including an option to set up recurring payments for those who wish to spread their payments out over a period of time.”

Traditional means of payment are still available through the billing office. For questions, call 315-338-7075.
