General surgeon Samuel Molica is accepting new patients at Rome Health Surgical Specialists, located at 267 Avery Lane, Suite 300, at the Griffiss Business & Technology Park.

Appointments may be made by calling 315-356-7770.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Molica to our practice,” said Practice Administrator Lisa Taurisano. “Dr. Molica completed his general surgery residency at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where he was trained in the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques to speed recovery.”

Dr. Molica graduated from the University of California in Davis with a bachelor’s degree in genetics. After earning his medical degree at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, he completed his five-year residency in general surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in 2020, where he served as administrative chief resident.

As a Level I adult and pediatric trauma center and certified burn center, SUNY afforded Dr. Molica the opportunity to gain extensive experience in a broad range of surgical procedures and advanced surgical techniques, including laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

As a general surgeon Dr. Molica will perform a broad range of procedures at Rome Health, such as minimally invasive surgery for gallbladder disease, appendicitis, and hernia repair, colon resections and endoscopy. In addition, he will perform limited thoracic procedures in the operating room and clinic.

“I look forward to bringing my expertise in robotic surgery to Rome as the system advances its surgical capabilities,” Dr. Molica said.

Dr. Molica was drawn to Rome Health because of the opportunity to use the full range of surgical skills that he developed at SUNY Upstate and the ability to work cooperatively with a team of skilled surgeons, who share his philosophy and commitment to excellence.

“When patients are facing the possibility of surgery, it’s important that we treat the patient as a whole person and truly listen to them,” Dr. Molica said. “They know themselves very well. When we take the time to hear their whole story, we can present the best care plan for each individual patient.”

Dr. Molica is joining surgeons Dr. Keneth Hall and Dr. Mark Williams at Rome Health Surgical Specialists.
