Rome Health appointed Dr. Cristian Andrade as Chief Medical Officer, effective today, to provide leadership and support of the medical staff in the delivery of clinical excellence.

A member of the St. Joseph’s Health medical staff for more than 18 years, Dr. Andrade completed his residency in family medicine at St. Joseph’s Health.

He cared for patients as a hospitalist for many years before accepting progressive leadership responsibilities, most recently serving as vice-president of Medical Affairs in Syracuse.

“Dr. Andrade is an excellent physician who provides great care to patients as a hospitalist. He carries that patient-centered focus into advancing overall quality as a leader,” said Rome Health President/Chief Executive Officer AnneMarie Czyz, registered nurse. “Dr. Andrade balances strategic vision with operations in an effective way. He has an inherent ability to consider the needs of all stakeholders to build consensus and achieve meaningful change.”

Dr. Andrade also serves as the medical director of CNY AIM, a clinically integrated network of providers, who are working collectively on population health initiatives to improve the quality of care and overall outcomes for the patients in the region. His knowledge will help Rome advance its population health vision.

Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Andrade earned his medical degree at University of Medical & Dental of New Jersey, New Brunswick, N.J. In 2019, he completed the Advanced Executive Leadership for Physicians training at Cornell University.

Rome Health extends its appreciation to former CMO Dr. Russell Silverman, FACC, who will continue to provide medical cardiology to area residents in the hospital’s Dorothy G. Griffin Cardiovascular Center.
