Rome girls JV squad caps off season with 13th victory


The Rome Free Academy girls junior varsity basketball team beat Whitesboro 41-32 on Friday night to end its season at 13-7.

Abby Call had 10 points, 21 rebounds, three steals and two blocks to lead RFA. Isabella Tharrett had 10 points, all in the fourth quarter. Zoe Evans had nine points, 11 rebounds and three blocks. Mia Mirabelli has eight points and six rebounds.

Oriskany boys win

The Oriskany boys JV basketball team beat West Canada 56-49 to improve to 13-6.

Oriskany was led by Crispin Velardi, who had 14 points. Kegan Kraeger had 11 points and eight rebounds. Aiden Fabbio had nine points and 12 rebounds.

RFA boys fall

Whitesboro beat the RFA boys JV basketball team 67-58.

Ethan Butler had 16 points, Isaiah Smith had 13 and Alex Wells scored nine. RFA is 12-7.

Westmoreland modified split

Payton Livingston had 13 points to lead the Westmoreland modified boys basketball White team to a 60-40 win over visiting Sherburne-Earlville.

Owen Davison had 12 points and seven rebounds for the 6-0 Bulldogs. Carson Dean added 10 points while Michael Scalise had four assists and three steals.

The Westmorend boys modified Green team fell to the visiting Sherburne-Earlville, 40-34.

Anthony Sawanec scored a game high 16 for the 0-6 Bulldogs while Hunter Klis added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
