Rome Generals to have new coach at helm this summer


The Rome Generals of the New York Collegiate Basebal League will have a new coach when they take the field this summer.

Cole Morozek has been named to the helm of the Generals for the 2018 campaign.

As the lead assistant at Ohio State University Mansfield, Morozek is responsible for all recruiting efforts and serves as the hitting and infield coach as well as the third base coach.

Morozek replaces Matt Burns as Generals head coach as Burns has become the general manager and director of baseball operations for the team.

Last season at Ohio State Mansfield, Morozek’s hitters posted a .341 team batting average. hitting 10 home runs and his infield held a .960 fielding percentage.

The Generals are scheduled to open their season on Friday, June 1, at DeLutis Field against the Sherrill Silversmiths.
