The Rome Family YMCA and the Rotary Club of Rome invite all families to participate in the free Family Fun Activity Challenge designed to get families engaged in physical and fun activities. Activities start Monday, Oct. 4.
“The Rome YMCA is grateful to the Rotary Club of Rome for sponsoring our Family Fun Activity Challenge,” said Aaron Calandra, Rome Y Wellness team leader.
“This is a community-wide challenge,” Calandra said, adding that both “non-members and members are encouraged to sign up and attend activities with their family at the Rome Y for three weeks and enter for a chance to win a free, one-year family membership.”
To get started, pick up your Family Passport at the Rome YMCA membership desk, 301 W. Bloomfield St. Choose your activity and register for each activity you plan on attending by calling the
Rome YMCA at 315-336-3500.
Passports will be stamped each day of attendance. Passports stamped with at least 15 days will be entered into the drawing for the free family membership.
Activities for each specific week are listed on the passports, posted on www.ymcatrivalley.com and on the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley Facebook page.
Activities such as archery, swimming, Boot Camp, yoga, Interactive Room, badminton, jump rope, pickle ball and crafts will be offered at various times from Oct. 4-23.
In addition to the Family Activity Challenge, the Y will host a community open house, Oct. 4-10 for ages 22 and older and families to try the Y for free. Join as a member between Oct. 11-17 and the joiner’s fee will be waived.
