TOWN OF WEBB — A Rome contractor is accused of getting into a fight with another contractor in Herkimer County, according to law enforcement officials.

Town Police said Mark A. Capponi Sr., 60, of Columbus Avenue, was working on a privately owned camp on Big Moose Road at about 3 p.m. Thursday when he attacked another contractor working at the same camp.

Police said no weapons were used.

Police said Capponi left the scene and was found later during a traffic stop in Old Forge.

Capponi is charged with one count of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, authorities said.

He is scheduled to appear in court.
