The Rome Free Academy boys lacrosse team routed Holland Patent, 19-4, on Thursday night at the Stadium as Noah Hammon scored seven goals and added an assist.
Dylan Gannon scored three goals and had four assists. Chris Orton scored three and had one assist. Nate Noecker scored twice and had an assist. Caleb Frey scored and had two assists. Griffin Eychner scored and had an assist. Mike Futia and Keyshawn Clark each scored. Jared Hussey had an assist.
Santos Cruz made one save for the win.
Scoring for Holland Patent were Lenny Racquet, Liam Dedrick, Jared Harter and Seth Dittle.
Andrew LaRock made three saves in goal for the Golden Knights.
Clinton shuts out Proctor
The Clinton boys lacrosse team blanked Proctor High of Utica 17-0. Nick Mondore led all scorers with four goals and three assists.
TJ Elsenbeck scored three times and had an assist. Tyler Karuzas scored and had one assist. Also scoring two goals were Brian Saunders, Victor Graham and Corbin Melie. Alex Getman had a goal and two assists. Brenden Karuzas scored and had one assist. Josh Trask made two saves for the shutout in goal for the Warriors.
Rome tops Proctor
The RFA softball team posted an 8-2 victory over Proctor High of Utica.
Laina Beer got the win on the mound for RFA, throwing a complete game with four strikeouts, while giving up five hits and walking three. RFA’s Ariel Williamson had a triple and drove in three. Olivia Guy also tripled. Sierra Jarosz had a double and drove in a run.
Oriskany wins big
The Oriskany softball team pounded out 13 hits to beat Morrisville-Eaton 18-0.
Angelina Hays was the winning pitcher, going four innings giving up two hits and striking out eight. Juliet Tagliaferri pitched a hitless fifth inning striking out one.
At the plate for Oriskany Maddelyn Hoehn and Aeron Hamm were both two-for-three with a double. Phelan Shannon was three-for-three with a double and four RBIs.
Clinton wins on the court
Clinton’s boys tennis team beat Morrisville-Eaton 4-1.
Clinton singles winners were Andrew Racioppa, Antonio Femia and Brian Hall. Dave Henderson and Nick Gale of Clinton won their doubles match, as did Morrisville’s Jason Schlotzhauer and Lacey Priest.
Camden tennis wins
The Camden boys tennis team beat Whitesboro 4-1.
Zach Ellis of Whitesboro won the first singles match, then Camden singles players Zack Conway and Chris Cook won their matches. The Camden doubles pairs of Montana Houseman and Nate Lucero and Thomas DeLosh and Koen Turner also won.
RFA falls in tennis
RFA lost a boys tennis match against Proctor 3-2.
Singles winners were Joseph Yoxall of RFA and Proctor’s Evan Lyga and Loc Huynh. Doubles winners were Jack Paute and Emil Obic of Proctor and Michael Storms and Thomas Tallarino of RFA.
Westmo tennis loses
The Westmoreland boys tennis team lost 5-0 to Hamilton.
RFA boys best Proctor
The RFA boys golf team beat Proctor 216-295.
Kyle Lubey and Dan DeHimer led RFA, firing a 40 each.
RFA golfers open with win
The RFA girls golf team opened their season with a 236-315 win over Proctor.
Kaitlyn Mastracco had the low score for RFA at 40.
Westmoreland wins tri-meet
Westmoreland outscored both Oriskany and Mount Markham in a Center State Conference track and field meet it hosted. Westmoreland beat Oriskany 95-29 and Mount Markham 68-63.
First place finishers for the Bulldogs were Kaylee Bertini in the high jump; Cheyenne Smithson in the long jump, 100 and 200; Hannah Schram in the discus; Elizabeth Sill in the shot put; and Danielle Flack in the 400.
The 400-meter relay team of Bertini, Smithson, Flack and Emily Kernan also won.
Oriskany’s Gianna Welker won the 1,500 and Paris Welker won the 3,000.
The Redskins’ 1,600 relay team of Alexis Lasher, Madeline Dennison, Jillien Roberts and Gianna Welker won; as did the 3,200 relay team of Paris Welker, Lasher, Gianna Welker and Roberts.
