Road work: Ramp remains closed at Routes 49-233

The westbound Ramp from Route 49 to Route 233 will again be closed this coming week due to bridge rehabilitation, the New York state Department of Transportation announced in its weekly road-work report for the Mohawk Valley region.

In other road work for the week beginning Monday, Aug. 26:

Rome, Route 233 bridge over Wheeler Creek” Motorists will encounter a lane shift with all work being performed behind barrier.

Rome, Route 26 between Elmer Hill Road and Stokes-Westernville Road” Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions due to guiderail installation.

Utica, Route 5S between Cornelia Street and Broad Street: Paving operations will be occurring on Hotel Street, Washington Street, and Whitesboro Street. Construction and utility relocation work continues to take place throughout the corridor. Highway lighting removal on 5S between Cornelia Street and John Street. The parking lane on Genesee Street south bound in the area of Franklin Square will be closed to traffic due to manhole work. There will be various lane closures on both Washington Street and Broadway for drainage installation; they will not be closed at the same time. Jay Street will remain closed from Genesee Street to Second Street. Burnet Street and First Street also remain closed at Jay Street. TheJay Street slip ramp to Second St. remains closed.

Utica, Route 5A between Route 12 and Whitesboro Street: Motorists will encounter a new traffic pattern between Whitesboro Street and Oriskany Street West. The east bound traffic lanes will be closed. East bound traffic will be routed to the west bound passing lane with west bound traffic utilizing the driving lane. Pavement markings will be placed to accommodate the new traffic pattern. Flaggers and delays may be encountered. Jason Street and Platt Street will remain open. Speed limit reduction to 30MPH in work zone.

Utica, Route 5-8-12 south bound between French Road and Route 8: Motorists will encounter lane closures during working hours due to bridge joint repair.

Marcy, Route 49 between Route 825 and River Street: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to guiderail installation.

Marcy, Route 291 between Route 69 and Old River Road: Motorists will encounter shoulder closures in both directions due to culvert work. Driveway installations will be on Route 291 ramp to Route 49 east bound.

Marcy, Route 49 between River Street and Route 12: Motorists will encounter shoulder closures in both directions due to culvert work.

Rome, Route 233 bridge over Wheeler Creek: Motorists will encounter a lane shift with all work being performed behind barrier.

Camden, Florence, Route 13 between Mill Street and the Oswego County line: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to guiderail installation.

Boonville, Route 12 between Route 28 and the Lewis County line: Motorists will encounter shoulder closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to roadside drainage.

Prospect, Route 365 at State Street: There will be no impact to traffic due to signal work.

Augusta, Route 26 at Knoxboro Road: Motorists will encounter possible shoulder closures in all directions with flaggers in place due to the removal of old poles and site grading.

Sangerfield, Route 20 between Route 12 and Newbery Road: Motorists may encounter an east bound lane and shoulder closure due to work on the permanent message board and the installation of solar panels.

Marcy, Route 291 between Chaminade Road and Shelley Drive: Motorists will encounter a lane shift in both directions due to bridge inspection.

Fort Plain, Route 80 at Otsquago Creek: Motorists will encounter a northbound lane closure due to bridge inspection.

Marcy: River Road east ramp from I790 west: Motorists will encounter a ramp closure on Monday due to the town of Marcy paving operation.

Madison County

Hamilton, Route 12B at College Street: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to utility relocation under the 12B north and south bound lanes.

Lenox, Route 13 at Pine Ridge Road: Motorists will encounter a northbound and southbound lane closure with flaggers in place.

Herkimer County

Ilion, Route 51 bridge between Route 5 and Route 5S: Bridge is closed. Motorists will encounter signed detours. Northbound travel on Route 51 will be detoured to Route 5S east just prior to the bridge. South bound travel will detoured to Herkimer to Route 5S west.

Frankfort, Ilion, Schuyler, Dyke Road, Southside Road, Acme Road, Main Street: Motorists will encounter lane closures in all directions with flaggers in place due to signs and fencing.

Little Falls, Danube, Route 5S between Route 167 and the Montgomery County line: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions in multiple locations with flaggers in place due to roadside ditching and drainage with minor delays expected. Beginning Wednesday August 21 there will be milling operations on Route 5S between Route 167 and Route 169 intersections. There will be a pilot vehicle used to guide traffic through the work zone. There will be delays, and alternate routes should be considered.

Montgomery County

Fort Hunter, Route 5S between Fort Hunter Road and Hill and Marks: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to paving operations.

Canajoharie, Sprakers, Route 5S between the Canajoharie Village line and Route 162: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to paving operations.

Saint Johnsville, Route 5 Between Fox Road and Route 67: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to paving operations.

Fulton County

Johnstown, Route 30A between Briggs Street and Townsend Avenue: Motorists will encounter north and south bound lane closures with flaggers in place due to drainage work, excavation work and the installation of signal conduit.

Mayfield, Route 30 and Route 30A: Motorists will encounter lane closures in all directions at the intersection with flaggers in place due on site detour work. A temporary three-color signal will be turned on at the intersection of Route 30 and Route 349.

Ephratah, Route 29 between the Montgomery County line and Route 29.:Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to paving operations.

Hamilton County

Inlet, Blue Mountain Lake, Route 28 between Inlet and Blue Mountain Lake: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to paving operations, ditching operations, drainage operations, shoulder repair and guiderail work.

Arietta, Route 8 between Old Piseco Road (County Route 24) north and south: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with temporary signals at each bridge due to the rehabilitation of Route 8 bridge over Piseco Lake outlet, Route 8 bridge over Sheriff Lake outlet and Route 8 bridge over Rogers Brook.

Arietta, Inlet, Raquette Lake, bridge inspection on Route 28: Motorists will encounter a lane shift in both directions.

Excavation work will be occurring in Rome, Clinton, and Hamilton. Motorists will encounter possible lane closures and lane shifts with flaggers in place.

Pavement striping will be occurring in Fulton, Herkimer, Hamilton, Montgomery, Madison and Oneida Counties. Lane shifts and flaggers may be encountered.
