Ride for Missing Children-CNY to meet Monday

The February meeting for the Ride for Missing Children-CNY will be held Monday, Feb. 12 at Mohawk Valley Community College, 1101 Sherman Drive, Utica.

Monday’s meeting will begin at 6 p.m. for new riders in room IT 225, and 7 p.m. in IT Shafer Theater for returning riders, volunteers and anyone with an interest in learning more about the ride.

Megan Sheldon of Whitestown American Youth Soccer Organization will be the February Guest Speaker.

Since 2015 Sheldon has organized an annual two-day AYSO soccer tournament fundraiser for the ride.

There are posters of missing children displayed throughout the soccer fields and each team plays for one of the missing children. Megan will be speaking on behalf of what inspired her to create this amazing fundraising tournament.

The meeting will also have a “Why We Ride” passion speaker.

The ride is the biggest annual fundraiser for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children - New York / Mohawk Valley branch.

The one-day, 100-mile bike ride throughout the Mohawk Valley is set to take place on Friday, June 1. The event promotes awareness and hope for missing and exploited children across the country.
