RFA JVs sweep twin bill


The Rome Free Academy junior varsity softball team won its home doubleheader on Monday with New Hartford, winning game one 5-4, and taking game two 3-0.

Laina Beer won both contests for the Black Knights. In game one, she had a relief appearance, throwing 2 1/3 innings giving up a run on two hits and she struck out three. In game two, Beer threw a complete game for RFA, giving up a hit and striking out nine.

Bella Baker doubled and had two RBIs for the Black Knights.

Bulldogs blanked

The Westmoreland JV softball team was blanked by Little Falls, losing 6-0.

Isabella Barretta had two hits for the Bulldogs.

Oriskany JVs victorious

The Oriskany JV baseball squad defeated Adirondack 17-9.

The two teams combined for 24 hits. Brayden Hemming struck out eight batters for Oriskany while Ryan Jock had three singles, Gianni Falatico had a double and scored four runs and Ethan Burrows added three hits including a double and three RBIs.

Redskins romp to win

In a girls modified softball game, Oriskany defeated Waterville, 17-3.

Ashley Reid had six strikeouts for the Redskins and Jordyn Carlo added a double.
