RFA girls open home slate with victory


Kelsey McCaskill scored 18 points to help lead the Rome Free Academy girls basketball team to a 74-56 home victory over Indian River on Saturday afternoon in a non-league game.

McCaskill added four assists and three steals for the Black Knights. Amanda Wilbert had a double-double for the Black Knights, scoring 12 points and pulling down 22 rebounds, 14 of them being defensive.

Alexys Schaefer finished with 10 points for RFA in the win.

RFA is 1-1 on the season.

Oneida rolls to win

Ella Rainbow scored a game-high 21 points for the Oneida girls basketball team as the Indians rolled past Chittenango 72-49.

Rainbow made four three-pointers in the win for the Indians and Lauren Skitbitski added 20 points and six rebounds for the winners. Skibitski had two threes for Oneida.

Julianna Cavanagh finished with 16 points and seven boards and Anna Hood grabbed 10 rebounds in the win for Oneida.

The Indians are 2-0.
