ROME — The Rome Free Academy Class of 1977 reunion committee is welcoming Rome Catholic High School classmates from that same year to join in its 45th reunion celebration the weekend of Sept. 30.

The weekend will begin with a casual opening get-together at Rome’s Copper City Brewing Company on Friday evening, followed by the main event — a dinner party at The Delta Lake Inn, 8524 Fish Hatchery Road at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1.

Additional activities planned for Saturday include a golf outing and hike earlier in the day and a potential off-site, post-dinner music party with local classic rock band Steely and the Night Hogs, featuring two RFA ’77 classmates.

The dinner banquet will include pasta primavera, chicken Francaise, bourbon grilled beef, salad and rolls, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans almondine, dessert, soda, coffee, and tea. A cash bar also will be available throughout the evening.

Classmates are welcome to bring a guest. The cost for the dinner is $55 per person now through Sept. 15. The price will increase to $65 between Sept. 16 and 23, after which time tickets will no longer be available. Everyone who attends the dinner will receive a free commemorative souvenir “rocks” glass.

The website includes information about hotel rooms available through Rome’s Hampton Inn, where blocks of rooms have been reserved for Class of ’77 attendees to book at a discounted rate through Sept. 5.
