Remsen senior earns Student Achievement Award
REMSEN — Remsen Central School senior Frank Austin was recognized May 11 as an award recipient at the School Boards Institute Student Achievement Awards Ceremony at Twin Ponds Golf & Country Club in New York Mills.
This award is earned by students who have achieved great things despite tremendous hardship.
School counselor Kathleen Nebush introduced Austin at the ceremony and praised him for the amazing individual that he is. Austin then took to the podium, thanking his family, Remsen teachers and his friends for all of their support.
He talked about the importance of working hard while overcoming extreme hardship and about how grateful he was for all of the opportunities and activities he was able to take part in.
“Frank reminded us all that every day is a gift and that the little things make a big difference,” said district Superintendent Timothy Jenny. “Congratulations, Frank. We are all very proud of you!”
