REMSEN – The Remsen Barn Festival has been canceled, according to a post on the event’s website. The annual festival which draws tens of thousands of shoppers and hundreds of vendors had been scheduled for Sept. 26–27.
According to the post, the committee decided to cancel the event — which has been a tradition, including a nod to the region’s Welsh heritage, for more than 40 years — due to safety concerns regarding coronavirus.
A virtual event will possibly be held in its place, but a decision has not yet been made. More details will be released if the committee chooses to move forward with an online event.
The festival is expected to resume in 2021, organizers added.
